Closed Mondays except Labor Day

The Store, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Sunday noon to 4 p.m.
Wildflower Café, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday noon to 4 p.m.

Closed July 4 and Thanksgiving day.

Group Visits - Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

Group Visits

The Wildflower Center offers a variety of group visit opportunities including docent-led and self-guided Adult Tours, Youth Group Visits and University field trips.

Directions from downtown Austin

  1. Head west on Sixth Street.
  2. Enter the entrance ramp for Loop 1 South (Loop 1 is also known as MOPAC Expressway).
  3. Continue south past the traffic light at Slaughter Lane.
  4. Turn left at the next traffic light at La Crosse Avenue.
  5. The Center is on the right near the end of La Crosse.

Garden Etiquette

Service animals only. Please, no pets.

Please drive slowly and enjoy your visit.

Please lock your car. The Wildflower Center is not responsible for damage or items left in vehicles.

Our trails are more fun on foot. Please park your bicycles in the parking lot.

The Wildflower Center is completely smoke-free.

Shirts and shoes required.

Closed-toe walking shoes recommended for trails and paths.

Don't forget your outdoor protection: sunscreen, hats, non-glass water bottles, insect repellant.

The Center's grounds and buildings are wheelchair accessible excluding the Observation Tower and the Woodland and the Savanna Meadow Trails.

The Wildflower Center has two picnic areas available on a first come, first serve basis for general visitors. Alcoholic beverages and fires are not permitted.

In case of emergency, first aid is available in the Administration Building.

Photography Policy

Amateur photography is welcome at the Wildflower Center.
