Title: Caring for non-native African violet
Answered by: Nan Hampton

QUESTION:

How do you care for the African violet?

ANSWER:

Our focus and expertise at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is in plants native to the North American continent. The African violet (Saintpaulia sp.), as its name implies, is a native of Africa. You can visit the web page of the African Violet Society of America, Inc. where you will find a wealth of knowledge about caring for African violets.
